Leaving the South Island

Akaroa - Picton

We've had a great time in the South Island so it was sad to leave and head on our longest drive yet to Picton to stay at the campsite near the port to catch the 6.30am ferry over to Wellington on Tuesday morning.
We left Akaroa at 6.45am Monday morning, stopping off at most places along the East Coast, from the devastation still effecting Christchurch, to see the seal colony and seal pubs in the waterfalls near Kaikoura, so sweet, we wanted to take one with us.
Found a great stop for lunch on the sea... was a very eventful 9 hour drive and we had a great journey.
